BHYC Jr. Program Foundation Cup Regatta

  • Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club (map)

The BHYC Jr. Program Foundation Regatta is a one day, GMORA-scored, PHRF event to provide the opportunity for competitors to enjoy a day of racing in the Boothbay Region while helping to encourage young people to join our wonderful sport. The BHYC Jr. Program Foundation provides scholarships and other funding to support the Junior Sailing Program at BHYC as well as the Boothbay Region High School Sailing Team. High school sailors from up and down the peninsula and neighboring islands sail weekdays, practicing skills, and compete weekends with other high school sailing teams from around the state of Maine.  The BHYC Jr. Program helps hundreds of children learn to sail each summer in its 10 week program.

Owners are requested to take onboard at least one youth (age 13+) from the Boothbay Harbor YC Jr. Program or the Boothbay Region High School Sailing Team; such person shall NOT be counted toward crew number or weight restrictions. This is a wonderful way to introduce our young sailors to keelboat racing and a great way for you to get someone with some local knowledge on board! Funds raised by this event will go to the BHYC Jr. Program Foundation to benefit youth sailing. The BHYC Jr. Program Foundation is a 501c(3) corporation and all donations are tax deductible.
